Hebei province plans to close all qualified urban Wells by the end of June 2019
In order to curb groundwater overexploitation, improve water ecological environment and promote sustainable use of water resources, the General Office of the Provincial government recently issued a work plan for the closure of urban self-provided Wells in Hebei Province, making it clear that all qualified urban self-provided Wells will be closed by the end of June 2019.

Compulsory closure of Wells owned by water users in violation of laws and regulations shall be strengthened in the enforcement of illegal Wells owned by water users such as unauthorized mining and excessive mining. Compulsory closure shall be imposed according to law and regulations by the end of this year. All Wells owned by the outgoing bankrupt unit shall be shut down, and the location and condition of the Wells owned by the outgoing, discontinued, bankrupt unit or individual shall be clarified. The local government shall appoint specialized personnel and technical team to fill the Wells before the end of this year according to the technical requirements. In cities and towns with surface water supply sources or urban public water supply enterprises with groundwater as the source of water, self-provided Wells shall be shut down. On the basis of retaining 10% to 15% of the thermal reserve water of groundwater, the rest of the supply water shall be switched to river water or surface water source, and the self-provided Wells shall be sealed and sealed by the end of this year. Shut down the supply pipe network in time. Within the coverage of urban public water supply pipe network, self-provided Wells for living, production and ecology should be accelerated to improve the public water supply pipe network, improve the water supply capacity, and implement the construction of the interface between public water supply pipe network and self-provided Wells simultaneously.
